Students’ View of LTU – Our latest recruitment video at LTU. I conceived the style, identified students who could, together, tell the LTU story, produced, wrote, directed and oversaw editing of this video. I’m proud of it.

Holiday Video 2013 – The latest video that I conceived, wrote, produced, directed and edited. It was fun to create and I think that shows. You have to appreciate the wonderful mascot, too! Enjoy!

TV ad for Lawrence Tech – I developed this TV spot for Lawrence Tech as part of our current integrated “Possible is Everything” advertising campaign. The copy matches our radio ads and the black and white elements match print. Produced the ads with a talented local production company and saved the University a lot of money.

Dr. Walker Tribute Video – Scheduled and interviewed 25 busy people, including L. Brooks Patterson and Southfield Mayor Brenda Lawrence. Shot with an internal crew. Edited with an outside production house.

Holiday Video – I developed this video for LTU as a greeting to students, staff, faculty and alumni for free, using stock footage, a few new shots I got myself, student and staff volunteers, and by editing it at my desk. UPDATE: This video has won a 2013 Renaissance Award of Excellence from IABC Detroit.

Motorsports Team News – LTU’s Hybrid Motorsports Team took second place at a national event. I one-man-banded the celebration and used student videos and photos from the event to edit the piece.

As if in celebration of YouTube’s Geek Week…. LTU competes in an international robotics event. Yes, I one-man-banded this… in the rain.

LTU Commencement 2013 – Student Reflections – My cameraman had just 20 minutes to shoot all of the interviews and b-roll I needed for this. I edited the piece at my desk.

LTU Candlelight Vigil for Newtown, CT – I shot this event myself, having only the candles for lighting once it got dark. I also edited it.

Holi Celebration – A video for Lawrence Tech I produced, shot and edited on FCPX in about four hours. The event celebrated spring as well as LTU’s International Week.

Spring comes to Lawrence Tech – Just a trifle I shot and edited with footage from the first really nice spring day on campus. Goal was to show this is no “chain institute,” but a true university with a full, pretty campus.

Tech Invitational – This is a video thank you card for corporate sponsors who supported the event to raise money for student projects. I was one of three cameramen and edited the piece on FCPX.

Kamikaze Priest – From my days working for NHK/KCTS co-production “Asia Now.” I wrote and edited this piece about a kamikaze pilot who was saved when World War II ended. He then gave his life to service in Nepal as a Catholic priest. Straight-cuts only edit suite.

Japanese Beatles Tribute Band – When I lived in Japan, the Beatles were still huge (even though they hadn’t been together in decades), so there was a Beatles tribute band craze for a while. I think I found the best one. And wait till you see the “John.” I produced, wrote and edited this piece.

John Kaizan Neptune Profile – Another “Asia Now” piece I produced, wrote and edited, back in the SD, straight cut days. I really appreciated his music, lifestyle and attitude.

Japanese Youth Culture – A story on the part of American culture many Japanese young people idolized. I wrote and edited this piece.
